The world's most famous wedge-shaped building, the Flatiron was designed by architect Daniel Burnham to take advantage of the narrow triangular block where Broadway and Fifth Avenue meet (an avenue away from Poster House). Completed in 1902 in the Beaux-Arts style, the building quickly became a well-known landmark for its dynamic profile and wealth of terracotta details.
