The "You Are on Native Land" design is meant to be a subtle way to education and spark conversation among non-indigenous communities. The design comes from an indigenous perspective and the phrase is intended for everyone including the wearer.
The other side of the tote features a hummingbird design which acknowledges Indigenous teachings and creation stories. The hummingbird is one of the three animals in the creation stories of the Indigenous People from the San Francisco Bay Area.
