Contemporary Iran: Poster Collection 35

Availability: In stock

In the last two decades, Iranian poster design has achieved widespread admiration and distinction for its innovative explorations of type and typography, which have been notably accelerated by the implementation of new digital technologies. As Iran’s early graphic designers emphasized illustration, so today’s designers accentuate typography, giving rise to a new national visual language. An understanding of the new Iranian design paradigm also requires some familiarity with traditional Iranian art and culture.

The posters presented in this latest installment of Lars Müller Publishers and the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich’s Poster Collection series have expanded the boundaries of Iranian poster design and showcased the energy, passion and enthusiasm of a new generation of designers.

Edited by Bettina Richter with texts by Majid Abbasi and Maryam Razi. Published by Lars Müller and the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich in 2023. Paperback, measures 9.5 x 6.5 inches, 96 pages. ISBN 9783037787304
