Christmas Vacation Print

Availability: In stock

A print reproduction of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, 1989, designed by Dawn Baillie.

Seiniger Advertising hired an outside illustrator, Chris Consani, to paint this electrifying image of Chevy Chase. While the painting was excellent, Chevy Chase's likeness required additional expressions so the project's designer and art director, Dawn Baillie, had the original art scanned and worked with an in-house sketch artist, Dave Christensen, to create alternate heads of the actor that could be superimposed on the composition.

To assemble this poster design, Dawn Baillie resized a C-print of the painting (with the new head) to the dimensions of a movie poster and repositioned some of the individual gift boxes. She then designed the typography and inserted it into the composition with chromatecs. Once the client had approved the design, a dye transfer print was made showing how the image and type were meant to fit together—and from all of this, the printer produced the final poster.

Measures 17 x 11 inches. Ships rolled.
