NYCxDESIGN invites you to discover Ode to NYC, a vibrant poster series celebrating the spirit and energy of New York City through the eyes of its emerging designers. The new 2026 collection, created by students from New York City’s leading design schools, showcases fresh talent and bold perspectives that reflect the city’s ever-evolving design culture.

From designer Sakarit Chankaew: "This poster celebrates inclusivity by blending the visual styles of Frutiger Aero and Dadaism into a cohesive collage. Through a mix of photography and graphic elements, it invites exploration and curiosity. The cityscape serves as a structural framework, representing New York’s diverse inhabitants such as humans, animals, and everything in between, coexisting in visual harmony. Not only does the poster highlight iconic landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, and the amusement park at Coney Island, but it also features a vibrant color palette that reflects the city’s dynamic energy. Playful and expressive arrangements further reinforce the message of unity and coexistence. Inspired by the rhythmic complexity of Take Five by Dave Brubeck, the poster’s visual movement echoes the offbeat energy of jazz, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and discover hidden layers. My aim is to spark curiosity and celebrate the rhythm and spirit of New York’s vibrant, multifaceted community."
