This soft enamel pin was inspired by Job, 1896, by Alphonse Mucha.

This Art Nouveau poster promotes Job brand cigarette rolling papers. The idealized woman's long flowing hair is highly stylized and mirrors the lifting smoke from a lit cigarette.

Mucha was born in Moravia (present day Czechia) in 1860. He went to Paris in 1887 to work as an artist and illustrator, with modest success. All that changed in 1894 when he met the world famous actress Sarah Bernhardt. His poster designs for her established him as the defining voice of the Art Nouveau period. He went on to become internationally famous with his lush images featuring beautiful, modern women.

Designed and manufactured by Today Is Art Day. Measures 1.25 inches.
