This stylish black coffee mug features Modiano, 1929, by Róbert Berény.
After studying in Paris, Berény became one of the first artists to introduce Cubism, Expressionism, and Fauvism to the Hungarian avant-garde. These influences combine to create a decidedly Art Deco composition, featuring an economical use of sharp lines and bold color. His client, Modiano, was a Trieste-based rolling-paper company. The brand was so popular in Hungary that it ultimately built a factory in Budapest.
11 ounce mug. Measures 5 x 4 x 3.5 inches.
