MetroCard Enamel Pin

Availability: In stock

This colorful enamel pin is an ode to an endangered species, the MetroCard! Like the long-gone metal "Y" tokens before it, the slide-to-enter MetroCard, with its bombastic graphic design, is slowly being replaced with tap-to-pay readers at every turnstile in New York City.

Introduced in 1993, the MetroCard has been a fixture in every New Yorker's life for the past 30 years. The cards are made from durable—but not durable enough—polyester, with a magnetic strip that had to be swiped at exactly the right speed.

Now immortalized as an enamel pin, this is the perfect homage to our ticket to the greatest city on Earth.

Measures 1.25 x 0.8 inches.
