Spanning 415 full-color pages, Japanese Music Poster Scrap: Rock presents 442 rare and iconic posters and flyers collected over the course of two decades by music producer and DJ Yasushi Ide. The collection spans from the emergence of Japanese rock in the 1960s through approximately 1986, when club music began to enter the cultural landscape. Extending beyond rock and punk to include folk, soul and blues, the selection highlights the diversity of both underground and mainstream music scenes in Japan. Each poster captures not only graphic innovation but also the social atmosphere and cultural energy of its time, revealing moments when music, youth culture and visual expression converged. Curated by Ide, who is widely recognized as a leading figure in Japanese street culture, the book is guided by an editorial perspective rooted in lived experience rather than retrospective nostalgia. It also features a special contribution by the fashion designer at the helm of UNDERCOVER, Jun Takahashi.
