This bandana was inspired by Absinthe Robette, 1896, by Belgian poster designer Henri Privat-Livemont.
This famous poster epitomizes the Art Nouveau movement with its lavish colors and delicately organic lines, evoking the sensual pleasures of absinthe. The highly alcoholic spirit was a staple of fin-de-siècle bohemian culture in Paris and New Orleans. It was featured in famous advertising posters such as Absinthe Robette and excessively consumed by the likes of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. It became so popular that 5 p.m. was referred to as l'heure verte, "the green hour," after absinthe's green hue.
