NYCxDESIGN invites you to discover Ode to NYC, a vibrant poster series celebrating the spirit and energy of New York City.
In partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation and New York City’s Public Schools’ Annual Graphic Design Competition, NYCxDESIGN, NYC, and NYC’s World Cup Czar selected original artwork from participating students to participate in the World Cup Ode to NYC. These students created original artwork in the Annual Graphics Competition over the course of four hours celebrating the excitement, energy, and global spirit of the World Cup in New York City. We are proud to present the four winning designs for World Cup Ode to NYC, recognizing the creativity, talent, and vision of New York City's emerging young designers.
From the designer Chloe Yong: "My name is Chloe Yong, and I’m an 18 year old high school senior who is currently studying illustration and graphic design. Soon I'll be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communication Design at one of the most prestigious design schools in the world, located in New York City. I participated in the Annual Graphic Arts Competition to challenge my skills and support my team in hopes to bring back a win. However, outside of art, I enjoy subjects such as forensics and video production because of how fun it can get. When I’m not in school, I enjoy bingeing movies or playing badminton with my older sister. She often inspires me to push myself for the better and has become the reason why I believe that there is never a limit when it comes to doing my best. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have my work be featured across New York and am excited to see what’s in store for me in the future."
