Urban Omnibus New York City Map

Availability: In stock

The Architectural League's Urban Omnibus is dedicated to observing, understanding, and shaping the city. After 15 years of publishing online, they decided to dramatically enter the tangible realm with this commemorative map highlighting some of their favorite stories about the people and places that make up New York City.

The map features an illustration by artist Stipan Tadić that riffs on classic illustrated maps of the City’s five boroughs, drawn, in great detail, alongside 20 vignettes of everyday life in New York City—from urban farms in East New York to public bathrooms in Washington Heights to row houses in Maspeth. The verso reproduces the vignettes with text and references for each site, highlighting major issues of interest for New York City today: gentrification, affordable housing, the climate crisis, environmental justice, inclusive public space, and more. The map functions both as a reference from a trusted and unique publication, and as a stunning print for display, entirely conceived, drawn, and manufactured in New York City.
