NYCxDESIGN invites you to experience the joy and possibilities of New York City through the eyes of leading and emerging designers with An Ode to NYC. This poster series taps into the expansive design ecosystem of the city, reflecting the heartbeat of the ever-changing design scene.
New York or Nowhere is a nod to the quote that can be found graffitied around NYC streets. In this poster, Dotun Abeshinbioke created different typographical treatments using that quote on plastic bags, as a play on the classic "Thank You" bags you receive when shopping with small businesses. The choice of type is also a nod to type that can be found in and around the city from the New York Times to store signage. For Dotun, the theme of Inclusivity, Diversity and Creativity shows up in the design of the city and she played on some of her favorite design elements to create this poster.

Dotun Abeshinbioke is the creative behind ábiké studio − a full service 360 creative agency pushing the boundaries of branding, design and art direction with a pan african view. A third-culture kid with roots in Nigeria and London, Dotun is now based in Brooklyn, NY and is known for her flair for modernized prints, colorways and playful approach to design and spaces.
