Vinyl sticker inspired by Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow, 1930, by Piet Mondrian.

This work by the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian is a prime example of the De Stijl movement. Also known as Neoplasticism, De Stijl was a Dutch avant-garde movement that began in 1917 in which artists focused on “pure abstraction” using only primary colors and vertical and horizontal lines. In his mature paintings, Mondrian used the simplest combinations of straight lines, right angles, primary colors, and black, white, and gray. The resulting works possess an extreme formal purity that embodies the artist’s spiritual belief in a harmonious cosmos. The colors and forms of this style heavily influenced Art Deco graphic design in the Netherlands and across Europe.

Sticker measures 3 x 3 inches.
