This poster by Milton Glaser featuring a tabby cat blooming out of the earth in place of the Catskills mountains, is one of the most popular iterations of Milton Glaser's I love NY Catskills designs produced for the New York Board of Tourism in 1985. Delightful details, such as a couple pausing their swim to take in the extraordinary view, are hallmarks of Glaser's quirky sense of humor and playfulness.
Milton Glaser (b. 1929- 2020) Easily considered one of the godfathers of American classic design and poster art, Glaser was one of the founders of Push Pin Studios along with Seymour Chwast. Glaser also co-founded New York Magazine in 1968 and went on to create his own famously well regarded studio. Over the course of his career he has created many beloved posters incorporating a myriad of styles and techniques, such as his psychedelic Bob Dylan image. His most iconic contribution may be the 'I love New York' logo, with a red heart replacing the word love. Milton Glaser partnered with Poster House on many occasions, most recently including the #CombatCovidPSACampaign before his death.
